Once an ordinary house in an ordinary street, Talliston House and Gardens has been transformed into a series of inspiring locations, each set in a different time and place.

Our Group Tours offers you and your guests the chance to step inside this extraordinary house and gardens and get to experience the sights, smells, colours and sounds of these truly fantastical rooms. Touring in small groups and accompanied by your very own guide, you'll get to journey through each of the unique and incredible locations.

Group Tours run throughout the year dependant upon availability of guides. Get in touch and we'll send all the information you need to plan your visit.

Monthly Invitation To View Tours

For smaller groups we can often accommodate on our monthly house & garden tours. These follow the same format as our Group Tours and are excellent for clubs & societies of 2-12 people. Full information can be found on our main House & Garden Tour page.

A unique and exciting way for your group to experience the magical world of the house and gardens

Tickets include a full guided tour of the house and gardens by a member of the team, room by room, mapping out the labyrinth of the property and exploring each of the locations.

Tours are followed by refreshments of tea, coffee and a selection of homemade cakes.

For insurance purposes for groups we will require a list including the full name and specific dietary requirements for each guest. Please allow three hours for your visit.

After confirmation, final information, directions and guest information will be sent after receipt of a deposit to secure the booking.

Key to any group visit is locking in the date. This can be a single day (Thursday 10 May), a recurring monthly meeting date (every third Thursday of the month) or a range of dates (May or June). Dates can can any Wednesday, Thursday or Friday – and some weekends. As a general guide a calendar is found on our Tours & Visits page which gives an idea of general availability across all our experiences.

While we don't need exact final numbers, we do need a rough indication of how many people would be attending. The sreason for this is that we rely on volunteer guides to split larger groups into parties of 4-6 guests, each accompanied by a guide. So for any booking we need to confirm estimated numbers of guests, and then secure a suitable number of volunteer guides to cover the tours.

We offer a 1.5 hour tour then hot refreshments and cake for the cost of £24.50 per person. We can also add sandwiches as a light lunch for an additional £8.50 per person.

Talliston is a private property with all the usual obstacles in an ordinary home. There are steps in the gardens and into the house, uneven floors in two places, and a staircase to the first floor. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access at the house & gardens due to the nature of the property. We ask that groups be mindful of this when booking a visit and that guests are mobile enough to tour the house which usually lasts around 1.5 hours.

We can offer seats in many of the rooms during the tour and a drop off point outside the main gate for those not able to walk distances, but the general rule is that visitors should be able to navigate a normal two-storey house to visit. If you have any questions or concerns about guests’ mobility, please contact us to discuss.

These tours are open to 11+ only – and anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult.

Due to the delicate nature of the wooden floors, no high heel or stiletto shoes are to be worn.

No food, drink, or large bags or luggage may be brought into the house for this event.

Unfortunately there is no access for disabled visitors.
