Join storyteller and author Sally Pomme Clayton in this intimate, enchanting performance exploring the secret world of the magician and discovering true magic in the mundane world.

Pomme mixes fact with fiction, fragments of myth with antique jokes, dazzling fairytales with snippets of science, forgotten folklore with mysterious images on tarot cards. Accompanied by a song on her mandolin and a spotted handkerchief, she casts a shimmer of stories, shifting from humour to horror, romance to rumour searching for real magic.

Sally Pomme Clayton is a pioneering storyteller and writer who has been creating performances, books and plays for more than 40 years, and has played a pivotal role in the storytelling revival. She creates unique work for theatres and museums, gardens, galleries, festivals and broadcast across the UK.

Pomme will be performing her self-penned work, The Magician's Apprentice exploring the secret world of the magician. In this slight-of-hand world, objects talk, girls become doves, the magician goes mad and you can enter another world!

The evening's story cycles will be split into two parts with a half-hour interval allowing for food & refreshments. Your ticket includes a selection of
light food options, plus hot & cold drinks.
AFTER THE SHOW: Pomme Q&A
Once the stories are over, there will be time for a Q&A with Pomme in the Watchtower – as well as time to relax and explore Talliston's many rooms,
each one a story in themselves.

This storytelling event is for guests aged 11+.

No tickets will be issued. Just your name added to the exclusive guest list.
Full details, directions, instructions and details will be sent at least one week prior to the event.
No food, drink or large bags/cases may be brought into the house for this event.
Due to the delicate nature of the wooden floors, no high heel or stiletto shoes are to be worn.
Unfortunately there is no access for disabled visitors.
